Coffee table with "Magic Revelation" system by Albert Ducrot - 1953

Coffee table with a system, convertible in a few ultra-simple operations into a dining table for 4! It is the work of French designer ALBERT DUCROT, patented in 1953 under the name MAGIC REVELATION. It has a Scandinavian style, from a time when the French began to draw inspiration from Nordic furniture. In coffee table position, it rests on 4 splayed legs that support the top. One edge is then lifted, and the cast iron system is pushed inward, which locks the top. By repeating this on the other side, you achieve the same table but this time at dining table height! Then, simply rotate the top, open it in two, and place it on the cast iron structure... And there you have it! Delightfully simple. It is also possible to open both tops in coffee table position. It functions perfectly. It has been completely disassembled, with the metal structure repainted in matte black. The original top was far too damaged, so it has been replaced with two plywood tops. The whole has been protected with a tinted golden oak varnish. There are some signs of its age, but it is in very good overall condition, ready for use.
