Coffee table “Pétalas”, designed by Jorge Zalszupin for L’Atelier in Brazil, around 1959. The table is composed of eight petal-shaped elements made of curved plywood, finished with rosewood veneer, arranged radially around a central iron structure. Together, these individual sections form a circular composition, resembling a flower, giving the piece its distinctive sculptural character. The curved surfaces highlight the natural grain and tonal variations of the rosewood, while the repetition of petal shapes creates a balance between geometric order and organic movement. Its low proportions and generous diameter allow for appreciation of the radial construction from different angles. The design reflects Zalszupin's exploration of expressive forms through moulded plywood, combining the warmth of wood with a carefully crafted structural solution. It brings together material richness, technical experimentation, and an organic vocabulary associated with Brazilian modern design. Dimensions: Diameter 130 × H 32 cm. Each item offered is checked by our team of 10 artisans in our in-house workshop. Special restoration or refurbishment requests can be made. The lighting can be electrified to the required voltage. Each piece designed by the studio or new production, being made with natural materials or crafted by artisans, may vary in wood colour, marble colour, or wood grain, etc. Please note that the colours of the furniture may vary depending on the type of lighting and the type of screen from which you view the images.
