Description
Here is a very nice mirror of art nouveau trend. It is part of this artistic trend, of course by its age, but also by its lines and decorations, as well as by the use of a material that has proven itself since the beginning of the century in creation, wrought iron, here black patinated. Framing a beveled glass in good condition (barely a slight scratch), the wrought iron decorations are indeed amazing. The "spiral" motif present at the 4 corners of the mirror cut with cut sides, is undoubtedly among the most emblematic of this magnificent period so prolific in novelties of all kinds. Circa 1920-30, this mirror is beautiful and in perfect condition, which is rare for such an object. Rare still this presentation in landscape when many rectangular mirrors are looking for a more common portrait shape. The 2 hooks on the sides allow this arrangement, enclosing the fixation that will be brought to it. This is probably another trace of this artistic period when most mirrors were intended for the horizontal more than the vertical. The back is made of a wooden plate on which still floats an air of history with its marks of life. Its resolutely retro side adapts wonderfully to our contemporary decorations, it is the paradox of arts deco, which remains an ever new art! With this magnificent piece, history speaks to the eyes of those who admire it.
