Superb French artisanal vase with a powerful design, dating from the Mid-Century period, circa 1960. This piece perfectly embodies the Brutalist aesthetic with its sculptural forms and hand-crafted raw texture. The object features a globular body adorned with radial geometric incisions on the shoulder, highlighted by several rows of applied relief scales or scallops. Two elaborately crafted handles, also textured by incisions, flank the neck, giving the piece an appearance reminiscent of an archaic amphora or an object from archaeological digs.
