Set of 2 Swedish brutalist frosted glass candle holders.

Set of two candle holders (height 16 cm, diameter 10 cm) from the Lindshammar Glassworks in Sweden. Active from 1905 to 1984, it specialised in "frosted glass" - or "glacial glass", thick and textured, reminiscent of glacier walls and ice cave stalactites in the far North. Designer to be identified, probably Christer Sjögren. Magnificent effects of texture and transparency, characteristic of handmade work. Spectacular when lit, they are also splendid "in their natural state", placed on a windowsill where they capture and refract the slightest ray of light. Very heavy (each piece weighs 2.2 kilos) and stable, they can also serve as vases or pencil holders, for cutlery... Very good vintage condition, with a tiny chip on the foot of one of the two (see second to last photo), which is barely noticeable given the many irregularities of the frosted glass.
