19th-century table lamp adorned with a "Nubian" or Venetian butler, a highly decorative piece rich in history. It is a candelabrum or an ornamental figurine, repurposed, depicting a man in Eastern attire in a classic supportive pose. The figurine represents a young Nubian dressed in a costume influenced by Ottoman/Venetian styles, characterised by a turban, a short tunic, and a belt. The fact that he holds the light (originally a torch or tray) is a classic design element for this type of piece. Material: The figurine is made of metal (probably calamine or antimony) on a sturdy cast iron base. Finish: The original polychrome finish is exceptional and hand-painted. It retains its green, red, and gold pigments, with the wear and natural patina that only time can bestow. Style: Orientalism / Victorian. This piece fits harmoniously into a classic, modern, eclectic, or vintage interior. Shade: Includes a red silk shade adorned with fringes and braids, diffusing a warm and welcoming ambient light. In good aesthetic condition considering its age. Electrical system modernised. Dimensions with shade: 60 cm high X 27 cm wide. As vintage items, they may show signs of wear. The photographs are an integral part of the description and condition of the item.
