A true nod to Brittany of yesteryear… This large bowl with handles, likely made of glazed earthenware, dates from the 1920s. Entirely hand-painted, it depicts a Breton woman in traditional dress, framed by naive flowers in soft colors, patinated by time. Its ochre, indigo blue, and moss green hues, combined with the glossy glaze, evoke the popular earthenware of Quimper or Malicorne, although the piece is unsigned. We love its generous shape, its decorated handles, and above all, its authentic presence—that of an object made to last, imbued with memories. Diameter 19 cm, height 6 cm. Good condition for its age, minor signs of wear, imperfections inherent to the craftsmanship, small chips on the handles (see photos). Full of charm, a piece with character for a decor with vintage appeal.
