Overview. Neoclassical Biedermeier display vitrine from South Germany, circa 1830. Tall, vertically proportioned piece designed for display with three-sided glazing for wide viewing angles. Materials. Walnut veneer and solid walnut case with ebonized full columns. Brass key escutcheon and iron lock, with original old glass panes in the front and side panels. Interior. Rear wall mirror and several interior shelves: stained oak bottom shelf and softwood upper shelves. Intermediate shelves are supported on cambered ebonized columns for a refined presentation. Dimensions & Weight. External measurements: W 96.6 cm × D 44.7 cm × H 158.7 cm. Seller notes the cabinet is heavy, with an estimated weight range between 80 kg and 150 kg. Origin. South Germany, dated to around 1830, representative of the restrained, geometric lines and display focus of Biedermeier furniture.
