Large Oil on Marine Canvas signed F. Carbu – 20th

Beautiful marine painting signed françois carbu, depicting a coastal landscape, where the slightly rough sea announces a coming storm. A boat stranded on the sand seems fragile compared to the rocks and the immensity of the ocean. The artist masters chiaroscuro and creates a charismatic work here. The painting is surrounded by a large carved wooden frame. François carbu (real name carbuccia) was born in 1896 in ajaccio and probably died in brittany where he lived most of his life. He was part of the association of “artists of montmarte” and “groupe des fusains” and was a life member of the baron taylor foundation.
