We are incredibly proud to offer a rare, complete, and matching set of six Mid-Century Modern dining chairs. Finding a cohesive set of six authentic, professionally restored 1960s chairs of this caliber is a rare opportunity for any vintage design lover. The price listed is for the complete set of 6 chairs. PROVENANCE AND DESIGN At first glance, this dynamic design strongly resembles the famous Polish models of the era. However, during the restoration process, we discovered a perfectly preserved original paper manufacturer label underneath one of the seats. This set is the rare Model Avala, produced in the 1960s by the woodworking combine in Sremska Mitrovica, former Yugoslavia. Yugoslavian Mid-Century design is highly revered by collectors for its exceptional carpentry and sleek, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetics. The chairs feature striking compass-style legs and beautifully curved backrests. RESTORATION AND WOODWORK The set has undergone a comprehensive, uncompromising restoration in our specialized workshop. The frames and the curved backrests, which retain their original European walnut veneer, were entirely stripped by hand. They were stained in a rich, warm dark walnut tone and sealed with premium, eco-friendly hard wax oil. This treatment provides a silky, satin-matte finish that protects the wood against daily dining use, completely avoiding the artificial gloss of old synthetic lacquers. UPHOLSTERY The drop-in seats were completely rebuilt from scratch. To maintain the elegant, floating look of the original design, we used custom-profiled high-density foam. The foam is 4 cm thick in the center and gracefully tapers towards the edges, preventing a heavy, overstuffed look. The seats are newly upholstered in a high-quality, durable woven fabric in a vibrant mustard yellow. This classic mid-century color creates a breathtaking contrast against the dark walnut wood. DIMENSIONS (Per chair) Total Height: 77 cm. Width: 46 cm. Total Depth: 48 cm. Seat Height: 45 cm.
