The Eames Lounge Chair and its footrest, whose exact names are respectively Eames Lounge (670) and Ottoman (671), were marketed in 1956 after development work by Charles and Ray Eames for the American furniture manufacturer Herman Miller. The European version was manufactured for almost 50 years by Mobilier International from 1956 to 2000. It was Vitra who took over the license, producing it until today.
