A pair of mid-century brutalist benches crafted entirely from solid pine wood. They originate from the 1960s or 1970s. Each bench features a thick seat supported by leg panels with geometric, semi-circular cut-outs. The construction relies on traditional tusk tenon joinery; a central horizontal stretcher pierces the legs and is secured at each end with a visible wooden wedge. This mechanical connection ensures stability without relying on glue. Please note that one of the benches has a historic repair under the seat, reinforced with visible metal bolts as shown in the photos. The solid pine planks display a natural grain pattern with a developed amber patina acquired over decades of use. The surfaces show minor wear consistent with age, complementing the unrefined character of the timber. The price is for the set.
