Large stoneware candlestick signed Denise Pointu, stoneware from Puisaye.

Large anthropomorphic candlestick, in glazed stoneware, from the 1960s, signed inside: Arts Ceram and D Pointu, for the ceramicist Denise Pointu-Detraz, a student of the Beaux Arts in Bourges and wife of Michel Pointu, son of Léon Pointu, and grandson of Jean Pointu, a renowned family of potters based in Puisaye. Denise sculpted while Michel turned and composed the glazes. The workshop closed in 1963. Stoneware in very good condition, sold with the candle. Height 37.5 cm, maximum width 20 cm, base diameter 11.5 cm, total weight: 2750 g.
