Walnut compactum wardrobe with mirror

This is a handsome antique compactum wardrobe which dates to around 1905. It is well sized, well made and rather heavy, a quality piece which is elegant and timeless. Made of solid walnut and figured veneers the wardrobe offers plenty of storage for any home. The front of the wardrobe is fitted with an arched bevelled mirrored door to the left and a glazed door to the right which is backed with a velvet curtain. The doors open to reveal silk lined interiors, small hanging rails and removable and adjustable brass hooks for hats or scarves. Below the doors four spacious drawers offer further storage space for clothes or bedding. The wardrobe is lockable and the key works well, it is one solid piece apart from the removable top plinth. I have left the wardrobe in its original finish but I can paint it if required in your choice of colour for a surcharge, please enquire. Condition. The wardrobe is in solid structural condition. There are various small cosmetic marks to the exterior with some small dents, scratches and knocks to the polished finish. The curtains to the interior have marks of age, they are hung on small brass rails so could be replaced as necessary. The mirror has some misting to the glass. Measurements. Height- 207cms. Width- 130.5cms at the top, 121.5cms at the base. Depth- 53.5cms at the top, 47cms at the side. Internal measurements, height 144.5cms. Width 53cms, depth 39cms. The measurements are taken at the widest points and the wardrobe is one solid piece apart from the removable top plinth.
