"Trissan" drop-leaf table by Sven Engström & Gunnar Myrstrand for Tingström

Oak table with drawer and two folding side leaves. "Trissan" model, Swedish production by Tingströms for Bra Bohag, 1960s. Designed by Sven Engström & Gunnar Myrstrand and produced in Sweden by Tingströms for Bra Bohag in the 1960s, the "Trissan" model is crafted in oak and features a compact structure with a front drawer and four square-section legs, two of which are fitted with castors for easier movement. The top measures 46.5 cm when closed and extends by means of two 25 cm folding side leaves, reaching 96.5 cm when fully open. The rounded ends of the leaves soften the straight lines of the structure and emphasize the table’s adaptable character. Working together from the mid-1940s, Engström & Myrstrand developed an understated design language with a particular focus on compact, versatile furniture for modern living. "Trissan" is a significant example of their approach: a drawer, extendable top and ease of movement are combined in a piece with simple, well-balanced forms. The original stamp beneath the top documents the model, designers and Swedish manufacture. Good condition. It may show some signs of age and use. Please pay close attention to the photographs. AG036
