1970's painting by Alexander Roos

Atmospheric oil on canvas painted by Alexander Roos in the 1970s, depicting a charming rural scene with a strong sense of composition and quality. Though a relatively unknown artist, Roos demonstrates a confident use of form and colour throughout the work. The bold square colour fields contrast beautifully with the aged canvas and neutral frame, giving the painting a distinctive and timeless character.
