Large medallion mirror in gilded wood, in the Napoléon III style, fitting into the classic decorative repertoire of the 19th century. A more streamlined design than some of the highly ornate pieces from the period. Crafted in a decorative spirit faithful to traditional techniques of gold leaf application. The gilding reveals beautiful nuances, with traces of the original red base and signs of the leaf application, characteristic of meticulous workmanship. The gilding, the beaded stucco inner frieze, and the parquet back testify to high-quality craftsmanship. Its large size is ideal as a wall piece in an entrance, a living room, or above a console, to structure the space and create a decorative focal point. Back: period wood parquet, mounted in a closed frame with its original hanging system. Condition: very good state of preservation, with a lovely patina of time and a few cracked beads.
