Rare monobloc desk designed by Belgian designer Berthe Libert in the 1970s. Entirely made of moulded and lacquered white polyester, this desk perfectly illustrates the research conducted around composite materials during this period. Its monolithic silhouette with generously rounded corners gives it a sculptural presence while maintaining remarkable functionality. The design, of great purity, reflects Berthe Libert's modernist approach, which favoured sober, fluid, and timeless forms. Both a work desk and a true design piece, this desk is now a rare work, particularly sought after by enthusiasts of 20th-century furniture. Very nice patina consistent with its age. Note some scratches on one corner (see photos) and a tiny stain on the top (10-cent piece).
