Pair of "Whistle" vases by Ettore Sottsass for Habitat, 2000

Italian work, 2000. Large vase H 32 X D 12 cm; small vase H 10 X D 12 cm. Blue glazed ceramic. Very good condition. Duo of vases with archetypal shapes, stacking simple volumes glazed in a deep blue, the small model reflecting the proportions of the large one. Designed by Sottsass for Habitat in 2000, seven years before his death, they confirm the consistency of the vocabulary of primary shapes — cone, cylinder, sphere — that the designer has been exploring since his beginnings. Sold as a duo, large and small matching models.
