Hannes Wettstein ‘Alfa’ dining chair for Molteni & Co

Hannes wettstein (1958-2008) was one of the most interesting designers of his generation, creating projects ranging from products to communication and industrial design to architecture. He was known as one of the most innovative and influential designers from the swiss school. He won many awards and offered the world really beautiful design. The ‘alfa’ chair has been decorated with the icff editors award in the usa in 2001. The chair was ‘born’ in wettstein’s head, from the union of just two pieces: one is the back, which continues into the rear legs; the other is the seat that extends into the front legs. Both pieces are in composite polyester resin composite, material with added fiberglass. This set is finished in grey glossy lacquer. A real example of minimalism, but very powerful and timeless design. This chair is alle about detail and beautiful construction. A timeless object and a future design classic.
