Arcoroc octagonal sugar bowl

This pretty glass candy dish has many uses: it can be given as a gift filled with small chocolates, used as a sugar bowl on a festive table, or as a container for cotton balls or small accessories in the bathroom. Its octagonal design is elegant, and the finely crafted handle adds a chic, Art Deco touch. The glass reflects light beautifully. It is from the Arcoroc brand (stamped underneath), created in 1958 to meet the needs of catering professionals for strength and durability. Along with Arcopal, Luminarc, and Cristal d’Arques, it is one of the branches of the Cristallerie d’Arques company. It is octagonal, like the Arcopal Octime series, and was probably made around the same time, in the 1980s. It is in very good condition, with no cracks or chips, the glass is beautifully clear, not opaque, just a few minor signs of age and use: a few tiny scratches. It measures 11.5 cm on each side, 5 cm high for the container and 10 cm high with the lid.
