Ancient Greek head – Ephebe – Cast from the Louvre Museum

Resin cast representing the face of a Greek youth, dated between 447 and 432 BC. The original marble piece is housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris. This reproduction of a Greek head was created by the museum's workshops in the 20th century. The original work, known as the Head of La Coulonche (5th century BC), was discovered on the Acropolis of Athens. It is a fragment of the Parthenon frieze. A rare item, this model is no longer produced and is not listed in the catalogue of the National Museums' Art Workshop. A wax seal affixed to the back of the cast certifies its official origin from the Louvre Museum. Presented on its original brown plexiglass base. H22 W14 D6 cm. In very good condition.
