Sigurd Ressell: Sigurd Ressell is a Norwegian designer who has greatly influenced Scandinavian design. With his avant-garde spirit, he has left an indelible mark on the history of design. Ressell designed numerous chairs in steel and leather, sofas, chairs, and even a bar (1960). In 1971, he designed the iconic Falcon chair. Ressell was born in 1920 in Norway. He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft, Art, and Industry and graduated in 1947. As part of a competition, Sigurd Ressell presented one of his designs. This caught the attention of Niels Vodder, a designer who regularly collaborated with Finn Juhl, a key figure in design. This led to the creation of a prototype based on his sketch. In 1958, Ressell received an award for his SR 600 chair at the “Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibitions”. Ressell has profoundly influenced 20th-century design.
