For sale: a pair of wall sconces designed by Carlo Nason for the Venetian manufacturer AV Mazzega, Murano, 1970s. Functional fixtures. Sold as a pair. Born into one of the oldest glassmaking families in Murano, Carlo Nason developed a unique formal language at the intersection of Venetian craftsmanship and modernist design. These sconces are a perfect expression of that: hand-blown Murano glass tube, white speckled with vaporous and changing nuances, encased in a beveled chrome metal frame, featuring an architectural and sculptural silhouette of understated and timeless elegance. The light diffused through the glass creates a soft and enveloping atmosphere. Intact glass, functional fixtures, very good overall condition.
