This exquisite hand-knotted Baotou rug from the early 20th century features a deep blue background with a polychrome design, including lotus flowers, plum blossoms, a phoenix bird, and a red sun surrounded by atmospheric clouds. The phoenix is perched on a rock. The rug is crafted from 100% natural silk, giving it a luxurious sheen and softness. It includes long fringes on both sides and three cotton hangers sewn on the back for easy wall hanging with the included wooden rod. The reverse side has a quality guarantee label from the Swedish importer Nessims.
