Knubbling floor lamp by anders pehrson for ateljé lyktan, sweden 1970s anders pehrson (1912–1982) was a leading figure in scandinavian lighting design. As creative director of ateljé lyktan from 1964, he helped establish the company’s international reputation for combining functionalism with expressive, sculptural forms. This iconic knubbling floor lamp was designed by anders pehrson for ateljé lyktan in sweden during the 1970s. The design combines a slender chromed stem and circular base with a large rounded shade, creating a strong yet elegant mid-century silhouette. The shade contains a sculptural concentric raster that filters and directs the light downwards. When illuminated, the lamp produces a beautiful warm glow and a distinctive layered light effect. The original push-button switch is still present and functions properly. The lamp is in very good vintage condition. The shade shows visible scratches and other traces of age and use, as shown in the photographs. Importantly, there are no breaks or cracks in either the shade or the internal raster. A characteristic and atmospheric example of anders pehrson’s swedish lighting design.
