Antique pine and marble toilet furniture (renovated)

With its veined white marble top, its scalloped backrest, and its turned baluster legs, this Napoleon III period dressing table (1870-1900) embodies the functional elegance of 19th-century bourgeois bedroom furniture. Today repurposed as a console, kitchen sideboard, or bathroom furniture, it stands out in any interior that blends the old and the contemporary. Materials: the structure is made of solid pine, revealing a light wood with generous and warm grains. The top and backrest are made of grey-veined white marble, naturally patinated by time, with that golden ivory hue that only age confers. The drawer knobs are turned wood, original to the piece. Features: the marble backrest, with a scalloped arch profile, protects the wall while creating an elegant frame for the top. Two side-by-side drawers, each adorned with a round turned knob, offer discreet storage. The four baluster legs, carefully turned, give the piece its characteristic visual lightness despite the weight of the marble. A low shelf in solid wood connects the legs with a stretcher, practical for placing baskets or decorative objects. The overall width makes it suitable as an entrance console, sideboard, or central piece in a characterful bathroom. Renovation: this antique bathroom furniture has been gently sanded for the first time to remove the wax and grime it was covered with, while respecting its timeworn patina. It has then been treated three times against wood-eating insects, followed by another sanding. Finally, the base has been protected with a clear matte varnish. The marble top has been thoroughly cleaned. Condition: robust and stable on its legs, the base shows signs of old wood-eating insect activity.
