French Wooden Arch Floor Lamp, 1940s

A large organically shaped and curved floor lamp, designed by an unknown italian modernist designer around the 1940s. The lamp is made of bent walnut wood. The electric cable is incorporated in the wood and has a switch that is located on the floor. The shade hangs from the hooked end of the lamp stand. The hood itself is made of fabric and coated on the inside. This is a rare and beautiful lamp with a design that you do not often see these days. Other italian designers who work in a similar organic style are carlo mollino, gio ponti, ico parisi, max ingrand and angelo lelii.
