Glazed earthenware pedestal, attributed to the montagnon workshops in nevers, active between 1875 and 1899, known for the elegance of their blue monochrome decorations. The piece features a stylized floral decoration, hand-painted, typical of the nivernais tradition of the late 19th century. Its curved and openwork shape, with a central opening at the base and top, evokes the decorative supports or pot bases that adorned interiors and winter gardens at the time. Dimensions: approximately 31 cm high and 30 cm in diameter at its widest point. The interior, unglazed, reveals the red earth typical of old productions. A clearly visible chip is present on the upper lip, without impacting on the stability or the general aesthetics of the whole. Some normal traces of wear are also noted on the top, testifying to old but respectful use. This pedestal, bearing the know-how of nevers earthenware, seduces with the liveliness of its decoration and the richness of its history.
