Vintage black ceramic globe lamp – Montgolfier Ceramics (Durtal), 1970. Globe lamp from the famous French manufacturer "Montgolfier (Durtal, Anjou)", dating from the 1970s/1980s. This iconic piece of French vintage design is distinguished by its elegant spherical base made of black glazed stoneware. The high-quality glaze features a remarkable "mirror effect" shine, with no cracks or chips. Under the base, there is the rare and authentic stamp of the manufacturer depicting a hot air balloon above the mention "FRANCE", a direct nod to the founder of the pottery, Robert de Montgolfier (a direct descendant of the inventors of the hot air balloon). The lamp is sold with its original cylindrical shade made of stretched threads (pleated brown/taupe colour) that diffuses a soft and extremely warm light, typical of the 70s atmosphere, but would benefit from a larger shade. A very beautiful collectible item, both minimalist, chic, and timeless, ideal for adding a *Hollywood Regency* or *Space Age* touch to your interior. 1970s / 1980s. Stoneware / black glazed ceramic base, textile stretched thread shade. In excellent vintage condition. Original electrical system functional. No major scratches, no chips on the ceramic. The shade is very clean and well-preserved. Dimensions: Total height (with shade): 53 cm. Height of the base alone (without shade): 34 cm. Maximum diameter of the base: 28 cm.
