Giulio Radi was the technical director. Some early designs were created by the famous painter Vittorio Zecchin. Avem is probably best known today for its very popular and long-standing Bizantino series, more commonly known by collectors as "Tutti Frutti", a range of ashtrays, bowls, and vases that was introduced in 1953 by an unknown designer. The Bizantino range is often attributed to the designer Dino Martens, who never worked for Avem, due to an error in a popular book on Murano glass.
