Post-impressionist painting - oil on canvas signed Julian BROSIUS - circa 1950

I offer a splendid representation in perfect condition of the medieval village of walnut trees in Burgundy (France). In a post-impressionist and materialist style, this work with beautiful dimensions and a thousand summer colors is particularly faithful to reality. Noyers is a charming French commune located in the Yonne department in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. This medieval and thousand-year-old village, preserved and poetic, has been made famous thanks to the numerous filmings of films and television series. This village was classified in 2014 as "the 7th most beautiful village preferred by the French". Every year it is a must-visit destination for tourists. Frame dimensions: 63.5 cm X 55.5 cm. Chassis dimensions: 46 cm x 38 cm. Presence of a label from the Baecque auction house on the frame, as well as another label bearing the words “burgundy house of the 15th century noyers (yonne) by j. Brosius” (see photos). This unique oil on canvas with its original frame is authentic, it is hand-signed by the painter Julian Brosius (1917-2004), a referenced and recognized artist. The work has been completely cleaned, the canvas has no restoration on the back (see photo), an anti-UV satin varnish has been applied (sennelier). The frame has been completely restored with walnut husk then covered with a glaze, the rebate is in rich gilding... The whole thing is ready to hang.
