Elegant mid-century coffee table produced by Interiér Praha in Czechoslovakia during the 1960s. The original manufacturer's label is still preserved underneath the table. The table features a light and elegant beechwood construction with beautifully tapered legs, softly rounded corners and a distinctive bentwood edge surrounding the top. The original beige opaxite glass top has been exceptionally well preserved and remains in excellent original condition. The wooden elements retain their warm vintage character, with some attractive patina and signs of use consistent with age. The wood has been partially restored where necessary while preserving the original appearance of the piece. A particularly practical feature is the construction of the four tapered legs, which simply screw into the underside of the table. They can therefore be easily removed, making the table convenient to store and transport. The combination of the warm beechwood, slender proportions and subtle beige glass gives the table a wonderfully light appearance characteristic of Czechoslovak mid-century design.
