"Homage to Mondrian" desk designed by Italian designer Danilo Sivestrin for Rosenthal Memphis Einrichtung, circa 1984. This desk is inspired by the Memphis Milano movement, an Italian design movement created in the 1980s by Ettore Sottsass. The movement was a protest against the neutral, understated, and functional modernism that preceded it. It defined the very basic design elements of form and function and succeeded in evoking emotions among the masses. This innovative design consists of five rectangular lacquered sections, in light gray, black, blue, yellow, and red lacquer. This desk was constructed and assembled to give a floating illusion. Good overall condition despite some cracks in the resin of the base and some missing edges. Carefully packaged and delivered via Cocolis. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions and do not forget to look at my other listings. Have a nice day. Dimensions. Height 84cm, Width 190cm, Depth 105cm.
