Beautiful antique panoramic photograph of the North African desert, showing a camel and figures among the sand dunes. The photograph is blind-stamped "A. BOUGAULT ÉDITEUR" in the bottom right corner, associated with the French photographer and publisher Alexandre Bougault, known for his photography in North Africa and the Sahara around the turn of the 20th century. The long panoramic format and desert subject are characteristic of Bougault's work during this period. Presented in a vintage wooden frame under glass, with a wonderful faded sepia tone and a very atmospheric composition. Details: * Blind stamp A. Bougault Éditeur. * Subject North Africa / Sahara. * Circa 1900 / early 20th century. * Panoramic photographic print. * Photograph approximately 22 × 58 cm. * Overall frame size approximately 24 × 61 cm. * Vintage wooden frame under glass. * Antique condition with visible age-related tonality, spots/rust, and some localized surface wear near the lower edge of the print. * The frame also shows signs of wear consistent with age. A beautiful and unusual piece of early travel photography with a strong decorative presence and much character.
