Vintage Teak Bookcase by Peter Hvidt, Denmark, 1960s

With its clean lines, warm teak tones, and slender legs, this bookcase strongly evokes the distinctive style of Peter Hvidt. Made of solid teak in the 1960s, its open compartments provide generous space for books, ceramics, and collectibles, creating a serene setting for the objects that bring character to an interior. Pieces of this quality and level of craftsmanship are now extremely rare. The precisely crafted dovetail joints along the edges securely connect the top and sides, making this craftsmanship an attractive visible detail. The height-adjustable shelves feature a central groove that allows them to slide directly onto the supports, keeping the hardware discreetly hidden. The small supports fit perfectly into place and may need to be gently tapped with a hammer when repositioning the shelves. The bookcase is in very good restored vintage condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with its age. Two pieces are available.
