Condiment stand in slipware

A charming earthenware condiment set, composed of three snails resting on a large, deep green and golden glazed vine leaf. The large snail opens with a lid and a matching branch-shaped spoon, while the two smaller ones are for salt or spices. The modeling work and the vibrancy of the glaze are reminiscent of certain Burgundian pieces from the 1950s and 60s, particularly those from the Colas pottery in Clamecy, known for its naturalistic and humorous designs. There is no indication of the maker's mark or origin, but it could be from the Colas pottery. The set is in beautiful vintage condition, very glossy, with minor wear to a few points on the leaf. It is complete with its original spoon, and there is just a tiny chip on the edge of each of the two small snails (see photos). Sheet dimensions: 17 X 17 cm; large snail diameter: 8 cm; small snails: 4 cm; height: 6 cm; spoon length: 10.5 cm. A charming and whimsical touch of rustic delight, perfect for a guest table.
