Mid-century Danish rocking chair set with footrest by Poul Volther for Frem Røjle, 1960s.

Vintage design. Simple rocking chair by the Danish manufacturer Frem Røjle based on a design by Poul Volther from the 1960s. Here in combination with the very rare ottoman. A very objective design with clear lines. The individual solid wood elements of the chair mostly have a rectangular cross-section. The frame tapers down to a point, giving this chair its distinctive V shape. The yellow fabric is a robust canvas material with a coarse texture that harmonises perfectly with the wood. The feet are particularly well crafted. From the side, they appear heavy and solid, but from the front, the true delicacy is evident. They taper almost to zero at the front and back. The rare ottoman is designed similarly to the chair. This rocking chair and footrest are hard to find. The chair and ottoman are in very good condition with signs of wear and patina. The upholstery and straps have been professionally replaced.
