Designed in 1965 for Artifort, the model 877 is a wonderful example of Paulin's ability to transform a functional object into a soft architectural form. The flowing curves and rounded corners give the table an almost organic appearance, while its compact proportions make it equally suitable beside a lounge chair, as a coffee table or simply as a design object in its own right. This particular example comes from the former Artifort showroom on the Annalaan in Maastricht, giving it a direct connection to the company's own history. The table remains in its original white finish and has never been repainted. It is structurally excellent, with no cracks, repairs or damage. Along some of the edges the white coating has become slightly thinner through decades of careful cleaning—a subtle patina that confirms its originality rather than detracting from it. The underside retains the original Artifort factory stamp together with the Pierre Paulin marking. A rare opportunity to acquire an increasingly collectible Paulin design in honest, original condition. Designer: Pierre Paulin. Manufacturer: Artifort, The Netherlands. Model: 877. Design year: 1965.
