6 antique chairs Jacob & Josef Kohn – Vienna – Decorated bent wood – Style

Superb set of 6 antique chairs from the Jacob & Josef Kohn factory, a famous Viennese house specialising in the manufacture of bentwood furniture, a historical competitor of Thonet. These chairs stand out for their elegant silhouette, slender and curved uprights, as well as their structure made of wood stained in a warm mahogany hue. Their backs feature a remarkable ornamental decoration with stylised floral patterns, while the seats are adorned with decorative compositions blending scrolls, geometric friezes, and plant motifs. The old labels preserved under the seats bear the mark of Jacob & Josef Kohn, linking these pieces to this Viennese factory. Founded in 1849 by Jacob Kohn and his son Josef, the company established itself as one of the great names in bentwood furniture. However, the exact dating of this set remains to be confirmed. The old patina, the shades of wood, and the still-visible decorations highlight their authenticity and charm. They will naturally find their place around a dining table, in a characterful home, or in an interior combining antique furniture and contemporary decoration. Characteristics.
