Here is a small iconic piece of furniture from the late 1960s and 1970s, featuring a guitar pick shape and tapered legs mounted on a compass base, all enhanced with golden metal "pads" and a golden plastic belt. It retains a touch of Scandinavian minimalist style, a hint of space age with its rounded shapes, and a lot of rockabilly, obviously, with a form that evokes wild guitar solos: a style that is both rebellious and chic. Versatile, it can serve as a side table, coffee table, plant stand, or for a lamp, or even as a bedside table. It is made entirely of solid wood (turned wooden legs and a wooden top with veneer). This piece of furniture also reflects a transformation in the furniture industry: industrialisation and rationalisation of production, an explosion of flat-pack sales, in large stores or by mail order. An aesthetic piece but also very practical: lightweight, easy to assemble/disassemble, you simply need to screw the legs into the designated spots. It is in generally good condition, sturdy (more so than a flat-pack piece of furniture nowadays, as it has lasted over 50 years!), but it obviously shows some signs of its age: small marks, discolourations, stains on the top or legs. It measures 44 cm in height and approximately 40 cm in width.
