Rare tripod stool in leather by Uno & Östen Kristiansson for Luxus, Sweden 1960.
Rare tripod stool signed Uno & Östen Kristiansson for Luxus, Vittsjö, dating from the 1960s. An elegant example of Scandinavian modernism, it combines a harmoniously proportioned oak structure with its original black leather seat. Its construction, both simple and ingenious, rests on three finely tapered oak legs connected by a triangular structure. This creates a light architectural silhouette while supporting the suspended leather seat. The black leather is stretched over the structure using a complex system of original leather straps and metal loops, a particularly refined detail that reflects the quality and ingenuity of the design. The contrast between the warmth of the oak and the black leather gives the stool a timeless character, while its triangular shape provides a sculptural appearance from different angles. Both stools are preserved in their original condition, including the leather, with visible signs of wear that contribute to their authenticity. The oak has developed a warm natural patina, while the leather shows slight wear, normal for its age. A particularly rare Kristiansson model and an attractive collectible piece of Swedish furniture from the 1960s. Price and sale per unit.
