Early 20th century painting "The Fisherman in the Gulf of Venice"

Oil on panel. Very sunny seascape with an off-center composition where a sailboat navigates on a distant lagoon landscape blurred by the heat. The work on the clouds and the reflections of light is particularly rich. The painting is cracked in places but it is solid. These cracks were created by a curved deformation of the panel and are still present. The straight oak frame highlights the painting simply without emphasis. The signature ALB.LABONEAU (?) and the title are affixed to the back. Another work by the same painter "The liner" is offered on the site.
