Chair designed by André Sornay, a visionary cabinetmaker active in Lyon, this piece perfectly illustrates his innovative approach to collapsible furniture, developed from the late 1950s. Solid ash frame with straight-jointed legs, a technique dear to Sornay, which gives the chair great solidity and a recognizable formal identity. The seat, covered in a cream bouclé fabric, offers a subtle contrast with the wood veneer backrest, for a sober but refined look. Between geometric rigor and modern comfort, this creation reveals all the know-how of its creator. Seat height: 48 cm Edition: Sornay Meubles, Lyon, circa 1955. Bibliography: Signed Sornay, Galerie Alain Marcelpoil, July 2010 - similar models p. 305. Ref: 6762.
