Very rare swivel office chair from the series of spring chairs in tubular steel by Egon Eiermann. A robust version of the SE 40 with a wooden base. The SE 40 impresses with its objectivity and simple functionality. The skeletal resolution of the backrest gives this design a certain lightness and elegance. The spring backrest provides comfort. The base is a heavy four-legged frame made of solid wood. The flat screw heads on the backrest and seat are functional details with a quality design. The chair is in good condition with signs of wear and patina. The height adjustment no longer works optimally. Designed by Egon Eiermann in 1952, manufactured by Wilde + Spieth.
