Shell horned helmet 18 cm

Horned helmet shell (blackcurrant cornuta) 19 cm long. This splendid shell has the beauty and perfection of a sculpture. Very trendy for a bohemian decoration. The horned helmet lives between 1 m and 30 m deep in coral reef regions. It likes sand bottoms and coral debris. It can bury itself at least partially. The shell, helmet-shaped, is large, strong, and heavy; it is 15 to 22 cm high. It is the largest shell of cassids (helmets). The last turn bears 3-4 more or less prominent tubers. The horned helmet can be easily distinguished from all other helmet species by the prominent rim of the base extending beyond the top of the shell.
