Two antique plates gien – yokohama model – 19th century earthenware

Magnificent set of 2 antique plates in Gien earthenware, model Yokohama. These plates are true collector's items, adorned with a superb polychrome decoration depicting an exotic bird on a flowering branch. The rim is decorated with delicate golden friezes and floral patterns typical of the Japonisme style of the time. Manufacturer: Gien France (stamp on the back). Model: Yokohama. Pattern: Bird of paradise and flowers, in shades of pink, green, and gold. Condition: Beautiful vintage condition for their age. Note a slight wear of the gilding on the edges and a few micro-scratches from use that attest to their authenticity (see detail photos). No major chips. Ideal for an elegant table setting, a collection of Gien earthenware, or to hang on the wall for a curiosity cabinet spirit.
