Description
Art Deco fish sculpture attributed to Jan, 1930'. The ceramic sculpture was cast in the Saint Clément factory in Lunéville and glazed in crackle style in creamy white. A particularly decorative animal sculpture, wonderfully timeless and can therefore be combined with any interior. The sculpture is not signed. Small chip on the rear fin (see photo). The jan was completely unknown in its time, while the sculptures of fish and other animals are well-known art deco ceramics. The realistic depiction of sculptures by Jan and other art deco artists is characterized by humor, kindness and imagination. A radical counter-movement compared to the animal bronzes of the 19th century. Very good condition, almost perfect.
