Woven tapestry in pure wool from Aubusson by JC Bissery titled "Aurore". Signed IFD and Jean-Claude Bissery, published in a limited edition, numbered, very large format with a hook and loop fastening on the back. Atelier Jean Laurent Aubusson Title: Aurore. Size: 80 X 200 cm. Contemporary tapestry created at the request of Jean Laurent. Master weaver in Aubusson. Made in pure wool on a Jacquard loom using the princess stitch, Black background decorated with a sun and birds. Beautiful bright colours. Jean-Claude Bissery is in the lineage and tradition of his contemporaries such as Picart-Ledoux or Jean Lurçat. He was a professor at the National School of Decorative Arts in Aubusson in the 1960s and 1970s and was also a painter and cartoonist.
