This Scandinavian mid-century freestanding desk, model AK-1340, a part of the Navel collection, was designed by Søren Nissen & Ebbe Gehl and made by Aksel Kjersgaard A/S in Denmark some time in the 1990s. Great example of functional Nordic design, which refers to the tradition of Danish carpentry.  The desk dimensions are H: 73 / W: 170 / D: 80 cm. The piece features a clean, minimalist form, and it’s equipped with four drawers. The drawer fronts are joined using traditional dovetail construction—a rare and demanding craftsmanship technique that highlights the exceptional quality of the piece. The desk has useful holes in the tabletop for cable management. It stands on thin, solid metal legs that match the handles and add lightness to the whole piece. The desk is veneered with walnut on all sides, allowing it to be placed freely in a room. It’s an ideal piece for a home office or study place. Additional dimensions: Space for legs: H: 62 / W: 90 cm, Drawers height: 5 cm, The desk is in fantastic condition, absolutely minor signs of use. The desk bears the original manufacturer’s label.
